The Second Law of Thermodynamics and Our Mutual Non-Aggression Pact With It

compliancethermodynamicslegal

Several clients have asked us to clarify the nature of our relationship with the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Today we offer that clarification.

In 2025, newtrawn INC entered into a mutual non-aggression pact with the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Per the agreement, neither party will take action to violate the other. We will not, for example, claim a perpetual-motion advisory service. The Second Law, in turn, agrees not to point at us during keynote talks. We consider the arrangement equitable.

The pact does not extend to the Third Law (which we have a more antagonistic relationship with), the Zeroth Law (which neither side considers a credible threat), or the First Law (which is bilaterally respected by all parties).

Some readers will note that mutual non-aggression pacts with universal physical principles are not, strictly, the kind of thing that requires negotiation. To which we respond: we cannot speak for the Second Law's representation, but ours considered the negotiation worthwhile.
